What personally identifiable information is collected

Cadence Computing Ltd requires certain contact information to give users access to magic5 Software on devices and in the online portal.  This information may or may not be personal (for example, names in email addresses) but, as we cannot know in advance, we will treat all such information as if it was personal.

Information is collected directly from yourself either by entering it when registering for magic5 Software or by telling us directly.  On rare occasions, a public domain website might be used to obtain a phone number, email address or other information in order to provide our service to you.

How and why we collect your information

Personal information may be collected when you register for a magic5 Trial in the form of a name and email address.

This is used to set up a unique login and to enable completed forms, alerts, password resets and other service communications to be sent to you.  This is legitimate due to the implicit service contract between you and us.

We will also require further contact details (such as administrator’s name and company address) for administrative purposes.  This is also aimed at providing a service and we will use this information:

  • for billing purposes and to fulfil your order,
  • to contact you if there are any problems fulfilling your order,
  • to contact you regarding technical support issues,
  • to improve our marketing and promotional efforts,
  • to statistically analyse site usage,
  • to improve our content and product offerings and
  • to customise our site’s content, layout, and services in order to improve our site and better meet our users’ needs.

This information may also be used to contact you about magic5 Software services that may be of interest to you through newsletters and occasional emails.

Google Analytics

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyse trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. We use a third-party tracking service called Google Analytics that uses cookies to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site.

Cadence Computing Ltd does not share data as part of its business practice and will not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party.

Data retention

Data is retained on the server, being flagged as deleted rather than actually deleted, while still being present in the database.  This is necessary to sustain the integrity of historical data as part of our service to you.  Data is also retained after termination of a system but, on request, personal details can be redacted.

Your rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information.  While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases.  These rights include:
