- How do I know my data is safe and secure?
Data is sent between the device and the server using secure protocols and encryption. If you are responsible for storing your own data (ie you are hosting your own system) you will need to discuss security with your hosting providers or in-house IT department.However, if magic5 is responsible for storing your data, you can rest assured as we have had a long and successful relationship with our server hosts. If a third party system will allow you to download your data into a spreadsheet or CSV file then it can be imported into magic5. This applies to customer, location and contact information, to lists of any sort (eg. products) and also to jobs. If you require a real-time link between magic5 and your own system then this is possible using the standard magic5 programming API (Application Programming Interface). - Can I export data that can be used elsewhere, even if I no longer use magic5 products?
Yes. Most information in magic5, such as customers and lists, can be exported to a spreadsheet and reports can be exported to a number of formats, including XML and CSV. - Can I export data directly into a third party system such as Sage?
Yes. Some bespoke work may be required to do this, but many of our customers use magic5 data in a third party system. - Can I export data in an attractive and readable format to send straight to my customers?
Yes. magic5 Professional produces an online report that can be sent to customers either automatically or following office authorisation. Documents can be PDFs, Excel spreadsheets or Word documents. Templates can be specifically tailored to your own requirements – contact magic5 support to discuss. - Can I import contacts & information from Outlook and Excel?
Yes. Customer and user information can be imported from an Excel spreadsheet, which can be created from an Outlook address book. Also any lists can be imported from a spreadsheet, for example products, pricing, call-out type, inventories, safety codes – anything that you currently use.
