1. Free trial

  1. How does the free trial work?
    Follow the link below to sign up for the trial.  You will not need to give any financial details and you can evaluate magic5 for as long as you need.  You will give your name and email address: these are used to create your account and will not be passed on to third parties.
  2. Do I need to provide a credit card to qualify for the trial?
    No. You only need provide us with a name and email address.
  3. How long does the trial last?
    At present there is no fixed number of days in which you must make a decision.  Take as long as you need.
  4. Do I have access to documentation and support on the trial?
    On the trial system, you’ll be able to try out all of the features in magic5 and you are welcome to contact us at any time for help or ideas on how to make it work for you.  magic5 has extensive help text documentation which is available here.
  5. Can I take advantage of the magic5 Trial and use it for nothing indefinitely?
    No, you cannot take advantage of our free software forever without anyone noticing.  We are very tolerant but if we think that our trial system is being abused we will disable the account without warning and will not be held responsible for any loss of data that results.
  6. Can I upgrade part way through the trial?
    Certainly.  When you transfer from magic5 Trial to magic5 Professional, your details will transfer with you so there is no need to set it all up again.   However, magic5 Trial does give access to some magic5 additional features which may incur additional costs when you convert – these are clearly specified on the product pages of the website and we will make sure you are aware of them before you commit to anything.
  7. Will I automatically be billed at the end of the trial?
    No.  We will not have taken any payment details and, as the trial period is not fixed, it will only end when you decide that it either is or is not the right software for you.
  8. Will I automatically be contacted at the end of the trial?
    We may contact you for feedback on what you didn’t like but we have more than enough things to do with our time than to make a nuisance of ourselves.  Customers in the past have really liked the software but needed features that were not available at the time – they let us know when we ask for feedback, so when features became available we contact them, they come on board and everybody is happy.
  9. Is there a limit to the number of users that can have a free trial?
    No, but see points above.  This means we can offer advice on how to get the best out of the software, and that we will notice if you are abusing the free trial.
  10. Are all features and functionality available as part of the free trial?
    Yes, you’ll get full access to magic5 Professional plus additional features.
  11. What if magic5 is close to what we are looking for but missing one or two things we need?
    magic5 is a very versatile tool but we know that there are some things that haven’t been included yet.  We offer bespoke magic5 systems, which usually incur extra costs, and have some very successful medium-large business systems running this way.  If this is too serious for you, by all means let us know what it is you are looking for and we will see whether there is an alternative way of solving the issue.  If we still can’t satisfy you, we will add it to our list of future potential modifications and let you know when it comes to the top of the priority list.

2. Subscription & Users

  1. Can I have different users on different subscriptions?
    Unfortunately not.  All users have a licence which costs the same.
  2. Is there a minimum or maximum number of users?
    No.  However, it is worth considering the impact of high amounts of data traffic on a server.  For large numbers of users (200+), please contact pre-sales support for advice on the best way forward.
  3. Can I stay on a free trial forever?
    No, unfortunately not.  Because all features and functionality are available on the free trial, there would be no reason for you to ever move onto a paid account while we would still be incurring hosting costs and slowly starving to death.
  4. How and when will I be billed?
    We typically invoice customers for 3 months’ subscription at a time, to save on paperwork. We’ll e-mail you an invoice and you can pay by BACS or cheque. If you wish to cancel your subscription then any unused subscription payments for whole months will be refunded to you.
  5. How do I cancel my subscription?
    Simply contact us and let us know that you wish to cancel.
  6. Is there a minimum term contract?
    No, you may cancel at any time.
